The Opportunity

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing inspections and repairs on equipment, building facilities, etc. as needed. The Maintenance Technician will report to the VP of Operations.

What You'll Do

Facility Maintenance & Repair

• Identify difference between piping and other various materials and the intended purpose.

• Responsible for basic level troubleshooting processes and procedures.

• Distinguish differences between various pumps and their uses.

• Measure and cut pipe.

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, hand tools, selected power tools.

• Drive company vehicles to load/transfer materials (Forklifts and ATV).

• Assist with projects as needed/upon request.

• May have specialty skills set – certified welder, electrician, journeyman, etc.

• Responsible for general housekeeping and facility maintenance.

• Must maintain work area ensuring it is clean, free of clutter, and safe.

• Knowledge of, maintenance of inventory for tools and parts.

• Communication on inventory counts and requests for new parts.

• Assist Technician II, I and responsible for mastery of technician III duties.

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, hand tools, selected power tools.

• Follow Lock Out/Tag Out (L.O.T.O) safety process.

• Drive company vehicles to load/transfer materials (Forklifts and ATV).

• Assist with projects as needed/upon request.

Maintenance Documentation

• Keep records of maintenance repairs and status of work orders.

Spare Parts Inventory Management

• Knowledge of maintenance and inventory for tools and parts.  • Communication on inventory counts and requests for new parts.

Safety & Compliance Monitoring

• Follow Lock Out/Tag Out (L.O.T.O) safety process.

• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

·      Very heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or inexcess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of forceconstantly to move objects.

·      Visual: The work requires visual acuity to perform an activity such as:operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills wherethe seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performing mechanical or skilledtrades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as ones by carpenters,technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.

·      Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standingor crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.

·      Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles andthe like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility isemphasized.

·      Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with orwithout correction and having the ability to receive detailed informationthrough oral communication and making fine discriminations in sound.

·      Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objectshorizontally from position to-position.

·      Repetitive Motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/orfingers.

·      Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods oftime.

·      Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Thisfactor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full useof the lower extremities and back muscles.

·      Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for longdistances or moving from one work site to another.

Working Environment

·      The worker is subjectto inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but notnecessarily from temperature changes.

·      The worker is subjectto extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than onehour.

·      The worker is subjectto noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to beheard above the ambient noise level.

·      The worker is subjectto hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity tomoving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working onscaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

·      The worker is subjectto atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affectthe respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poorventilation.

·      The worker isrequired to function in narrow aisles or passageways.

·      The worker is exposedto infectious diseases.

High School diploma REQUIRED.

Forklift certification REQUIRED.
