The MaintenanceElectrician is responsible for performing a variety of diversified duties toassist in maintaining the plant and surrounding properties and oversee facilityequipment according to safety, predictive, and productive processes. Theelectrician reports to the VP of Operations.
Electrical Systems Installation & Maintenance
• Performs preventive maintenance and repair on all electrical items and facilities
• Routinely runs power to electrical sources where needed, in accordance with procedures and manufacturers’ recommendations
• Experience working on VFDs (variable frequency drives)
• Tests and repairs all safety circuits in generator and control units
• Inspects electrical power generation systems to ensure no faults exist
• Monitors operation of all power generation electrical components to ensure proper operation
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical problems
• Completes maintenance records and maintains operating logbooks as required; documents all maintenance performed
• Advises the Supervisor on the status of power production stock, equipment, and systems
• Maintains control of the Power Plant Electrician's tools and manuals
• Maintains inventory accuracy at 98% or better
• Maintains property to sufficient standards and pursues day-to-day projects and department requests of the Maintenance Manager
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Responds to power outages and equipment failures as required
Electrical Safety Compliance
• Maintains a safe workplace program and ensures that safety is the highest priority in the workplace
• Complies with all Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH), Waste Management, and Quality Assurance requirements, goals, policies, and procedures
• Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation
• Evaluates job hazards and communicates information to staff verbally and inwriting through various venues, including weekly and/or daily meetings
• Monitors loading and operates power generation equipment in an efficient and economical manner
• Supports the achievement of metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly affected by this position’s work activities
• Works to achieve goals and contractual commitments
Instrumentation Calibration & Maintenance
• Performs preventive maintenance and repair on all electrical items and facilities
• Tests and repairs all safety circuits in generator and control units
• Completes maintenance records and maintains operating logbooks as required; documents all maintenance performed
• Trains Power Plant Operators and Mechanics on Power Plant operation and equipment as directed
Emergency Electrical Repairs
•Troubleshoots and repairs electrical problems
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Responds to power outages and equipment failures as required
